After a full year of remote learning due to the global COVID 19 pandemic, LAUSD students will begin returning to campus this coming Monday, April 12th, 2021. In preparation, today non-profit Baby2Baby, along with Board Member & Ambassador Kelly Rowland, welcomed children and families disproportionately impacted by the pandemic to a special outdoor distribution event at MacArthur Park Elementary in Los Angeles, where 98% of K-5 students qualify for free lunch, and many students are experiencing homelessness. The “Welcome Back With Baby2Baby” event was presented by Amazon, who helped the organization provide basic essentials for every student in the school, including face masks, hand sanitizer, hygiene items, school supplies, food, clothing and more to ensure that students and their families have the essentials they need to stay safe.
“Today I was proud to spend the day with Baby2Baby and welcome students back to campus,” shared Baby2Baby Board Member Kelly Rowland. “We are so thankful to Amazon for helping us celebrate this milestone and ensure that children feel safe and secure coming back to the classroom for the first time in over a year.”
